Netscape's 3.0 E-mail Client
This is a brief tutorial showing you how to set up
your Netscape Browser to connect to our server and
retrieve your mail. Since the Macintosh version and
the Windows version of this software are so
similar, the pictures shown are from a Macintosh.
Notes will follow if anything is different in the
Windows version.
These screens are broken up into two different
sections - one for Basic Web Accounts, and one for
Domain Web Accounts. Follow the instructions that
correspond to the account you have.
Basic Web Account
(you@mia.net)
Domain Web Account
(you@your-company.com)
Basic Web Account Setup
- Start the Netscape Browser by double
clicking on the program icon. Choose "Mail and
News Preferences..." under the "Options" menu.
You will be shown the Settings window. The main
preferences that must be set are in the
"Servers" and the "Identity" tabs.
- Fill in the information as shown in the
"Servers" area.

- Fill in the SMTP and POP mail server names
as shown.
- Replace "username" with the username given
to you in the confirmation e-mail sent when you
signed up.
These are the only mandatory settings you need
to check your e-mail using the Netscape E-mail
client. There are other settings, but they do not
need to be specific. You are now ready to use your
e-mail account. Close the window, and choose
"Netscape Mail..." from the "Window" menu. From
then on, you may read the documentation that came
with the Netscape Browser.
