Eudora

This is a brief tutorial showing how you need to set up your Eudora client in order to connect to our server and retrieve your mail. Since the Macintosh version and the Windows version of this software are so similar, the pictures shown are from a Macintosh. Notes will follow if anything is different in the Windows version.

These screens are broken up into two different sections - one for Basic Web Accounts, and one for Domain Web Accounts. Follow the instructions that correspond to the account you have.

Basic Web Account (username@mia.net)
Domain Web Account (you@yourdomain.com)

Basic Web Account Setup

  1. Start the application by double clicking on the program icon. The first time the program is started, it will automatically show you the Settings Window. If not, then choose "Settings..." under the "Special" menu ("Options" in the windows client).

  2. Fill in the information as shown in the "Getting Started" area.

  3. Replace "username" with the username name given to you in the confirmation e-mail when you signed up.
  4. Fill in your Real Name. For Example "Bob Denver."

  5. Fill in the return e-mail address for any messages sent from this mail account. This is the e-mail address you would give to people so they may send you e-mail. For the basic account, it will look something like "bdenver@mia.net."

  6. Put "mail.mia.net" as the SMTP server as shown above.

These are the only mandatory settings you need to check your e-mail at Mia.Net. There are other settings, but they do not need to be specific. You are now ready to use your e-mail account. Close the window, and choose "Check Mail..." from the "File" menu.

  3. Replace "username" with the username given to you in the confirmation e-mail sent when you signed up, and "yourdomain.com" with the domain you registered with InterNIC.
  4. Fill in your Real Name. For Example "Bob Denver."
